Church Bus

Welcome!

We trust that just as you visited us at lbccortez.org, that you will soon take the time to come and see us in person at Lighthouse Baptist Church. While hopefully our site is helpful and friendly, there is nothing like seeing our church and meeting the people that make up our church in person.

When you come to visit, you can expect to meet friendly people, be encouraged through our music worship service and be challenged by the preaching and teaching of God's Word. We have adult classes for meeting folks your age, children's classes where they can learn the truths of the Bible and our main services so God can meet with each one of us, right in the areas where we need it. Trust us, God has encouragement and a plan in store for everyone.

There is nothing like experiencing our church for the first time. So please, join us!

location info

Location, Times & Schedules

Where are you?

If you've never visited us before, it is very easy to find us. If you take Highway 145 north from Cortez, we are about 2 miles from the 160/145 turn-off. If you are coming from the north, we are about 8 minutes south of Dolores, just past County Road M.

What time should I be there?

Our Sunday school hour begins at 10:00am, followed by our main worship service at 11:00am Sunday mornings. We would love to have you back on Sunday night at 6:00pm and on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm. Classes for children are available Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. See the Children's page for more info about those.

Anything else go on during the week?

So glad you asked! Other than our three normal church services, we have a teen program on Tuesday and Sunday nights, a Men's prayer breakfast on Saturday mornings at 8:00, and another Bible study on Thursday nights. Throughout the year we have Ladies' Bible studies, parenting classes and other great events that make our church so great.

What else?

What Else Should I Know?

Do you have nurseries?

Yes! And great ones at that. On Sunday mornings we have infant and toddler nurseries, while in the rest of our services we offer one combined nursery.

How should I dress?

There is not a dress code at Lighthouse Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at LBC!

Do you expect me to give in your offering?

Actually, no. The offering is a way of worshipping our Lord. We do not invite you to our church merely to increase our offering and have more givers, but that you may see the free gift that is Jesus Christ and his salvation. In like manner, we see your visit as a gift, our way of thanking you for visiting. Please do not feel obligated to participate in that part of our worship.

What should I do if I have a special need?

If you have a special need or a prayer request that we can take to the Lord with you, please share with it Pastor. He may pray with you, or have one of the great folks in the church assist in meeting your need. Jesus Christ spent his three years of ministry meeting people's needs, and we would like to do our best in the same regard. So please, if there is something we can help you with, do not hesitate to let us know.
